A turnkey EPC contract for the construction of the Plant with a production capacity of 22 million TPA of LNG and 4.60 million TPA of gas liquids, all the Gas Transmission System and the Residential Area.
The main elements of the 6 LNG Train plant are
- Dedicated gas transmission pipelines system linking gas supply fields to the plant by pipeline,, - 3 LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 84,200 m³ each, - A common fractionation plant to process LPG, - 2 condensate storage tanks, - 2 new 65,000 m³ LPG refrigerated tanks, - 8 generators with a total capacity of 320 MW, - 2 LNG export jetties, - 1 LPG and Condensate export jetty, - 18 LNG ships dedicated to NLNG service, - A residential area covering 2.08sq.km.
Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) is jointly owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (49%), Shell (25.6%), Total LNG Nigeria Limited (15%) and ENI (10.4%). Shell's Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) project currently produces 16 million tones per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas and 2 million tones per year of liquefied petroleum gas.
- A Six LNG train gas liquefaction plant,
- A gas transmission system linking gas supply fields to the plant by pipeline, - Associated utilities, storage / loading facilities and other infrastructure, - Seven LNG vessels for CIF deliveries & Residential quarters for the company's permanent employees on Bonny Island.
It was announced in early 1999 that the plant was to be expanded to accommodate a third, then a fourth and a fifth LNG train.
The current addition of the sixth LNG train will further boost the LNG capacity by 4 million tones per year up to a total of 22 million tons per year of LNG and 5 million of natural gas liquids.
The sixth train is scheduled to start up in the 4th quarter of 2007. This expansion of the facility will place NLNG among the largest producers of LNG in the world.
